Is BYC Experiencing Cabin Fever?

I know! I was teasing you about being a farmer! I went to college at The Ohio State University college of Agriculture. Graduated with a degree in Agronomy, and havent had a horse since right before school! I totally get it. But you are young, and need to feed your soul before you are too old or tied down to a routine!

Keep talkin like that and I might pull the trigger on that horse haha!

One of my dreams when I was younger was to have a sport horse breeding farm. My original plan was to have a Percheron stallion covering Thoroughbred, Arab and light framed Warmbloods. I've always found Percheron crosses appealing in that they tended to have a heavier bone structure and level headedness but also some of the refinement of the lighter breed that made up the rest of their genetics. Usually a more refined head. Every year my local fair has a drawing to giveaway a draft or mule. Usually it's a registered Percheron weanling and you can bet I spend more than I should on tickets each year.

Haven't had any luck with winning though. Lol
Back when they were developing the breed Percherons had the benefit of a touch of Arab bloodlines added to it. My girl does the Whirly gig every once and a while....

It must be like riding a steam train going down that track! I wouldn't want to have a fall for sure!
If you ever been to the drag races its much like that... All that power rumbling.... Yet because of that power they are smooth as glass to ride. Even if they are trotting.

I was stunned to feel the transition from walk to trot on my girl.... Effortless into a ground covering trot.... Unfortunatley my physical limitations wouldn allow me to try a canter... But Julie told me her canter is very smooth and transistions effortless.

what no figure eight? :gig

Yep, they do big yellow school bus figure 8 races too...

I was supposed to go to a straight up "big yellow school bus demolition derby" 20 something years ago with friends because the local radio kept advertising it, and we decided we just had to see that... and then it rained all day so we didn't go....

Here's a picture of my Great Granddad with one of his teams, also my Gramma with a draft foal. There is a book that was published in the 80s about our family, these pics were included in it. I have copies of the originals.
