is container high enough so a chick won't jump in?

i'm trying to find a glass container that's high enough to put water in for lockdown. but i worry that the chicks will jump in and drown. is 2 - 2 1/2 inches tall enough?

I would recommend soaked rags or soaked thick socks instead of a jar of water. Chicks can do things most people would never think of.

I use sponges in plastic lids for lockdown.
