Is der any other animal you like better then chickens?

Thats very original and unique, in my country there are no racoons at all, the closest thing that we have would be.... a possume I guess, but our possums are nothing like ur ones either our ones are cute and friendly I use to hand feed wild ones in the park an pat em. Any way racoons hey that is something else, you guys have beavers, and bears and cougars and wolfs... very epic. I don't get why people think Australia has the most dangerous animals we don't have bears and mountain lions ect... yes we have wild dogs in the mountains a few bad spiders and snakes but theres snakes in usa too... anyway thanks for sharing your unique critter.

I've had a pet possum before (one of ours). They make pretty good pets if you know what you are doing (just like coons) but they have a pretty short life span. I think something like 10 years in captivity and 5 in the wild. Neither are really a pet for somebody that doesn't understand them since they never 100% totally tame down.

Horses.

You can be the most avid rider and compete in sport at the highest level (Olympics) or you can be a low key owner that just enjoys their company. There's no limits.

You can have an almost spiritual connection with them, especially out enjoying nature together.

I like their longevity. Their quietness. Their subtlety. You don't even need to speak and they understand.
What Peaches said. Also what another poster said: I feel incomplete without them. I love the way my eyes and heart feel when I look at them and watch them, standing, walking, running. I love the way they smell when I bury my nose in their neck, that spot where neck meets shoulder. I love it when I hug my mare and she wraps her neck around me and presses me against her chest and hugs me close and gives me that hunh-hunh-hunh whicker of greeting. I love the sound of their tails swishing flies away and their hooves stamping in the dirt and strong teeth crunching hay. And I love riding, when my thoughts translate into her movements and actions and we race down the sandwash together, hair flying, hooves pounding, wind in my face, sand kicking up behind us. We are thunder!

Oh to be young and strong and fit again! To fly like an eagle on the back of my mare!

A friend once asked if I enjoyed riding because I liked having power over the horse. My jaw literally dropped. When I recovered, i said, No. I enjoy having the power OF the horse.

She didn't understand the difference.

I can't choose a favorite, tbh. There will be days I'm chilling with my doggies, and I think, "Dogs are the best!"

Then I'll go climb hills with my goatie girls and think, "Goats ate the best!"

Then I'll play hide and seek with my kitties and think, "Cats are the best!"

And chickens are the best. And ducks are the best. And I love lizards. And deer. And mongooses. And... and... and...
Haha this is so me. I was just reading through peoples answers and thinking “I don’t think I can choose! They’re all my favorites!” I am currently trying to convince my husband that when we retire we need goats and miniature cows. I used to be very much a cat person, but after years with dogs I definitely love them too…and chickens…and quail…and fish…and goats…and…and…😆

And right now, the goats are a LOT to deal with. We just had way more snow than we've had since 1970, and there is so much MUD. So. Much. Chickens and ducks = not a big problem. But I was thinking as I was digging out pounds and pounds of mud and poop and spilled forage, "These goats are a PITA compared to chickens...."

Ur possums play dead as a defence mechanism how unique.
Dog person at heart here, but raccoons are my number two.
As far as outside critters, I have goats and a pig along with the chickens... The goats are friendly and hilarious, but I adore my pig. :)
I know id like racoons better dogs. Never had a pig but there grunting is out of this world the way they grunt an sniff around for things is impressive.
i love ducks because their derpy face

What goats do you have. You have them in the snow wow how extreme. Lotta hard work hey.

Besides chickens I only have a dog, and I owned cats in the past (although we all know cats are the real owners hah!). Ooh and I also had newts, those little things are sooo cute! I like them all! The only downside that chickens have is not being able to cuddle with them on the sofa the same way we do with cats and dogs. But cats and dogs won’t give you eggs!
An animal that I’d like to have is african donkeys, those that are very small. Omg I remember visiting a farm where they had one and it was sooo cute! also dwarf goats are so tempting! But I shouldn’t really spend money on new pets (and all the costs that it takes).
