Is DNA testing 100% What's happening here?

Hi folks,

DNA sexing is definitely accurate, as long as the feather that's submitted is from the right bird. That is to say, it's as accurate as long as the sample hasn't been mixed up before the bird is sexed.

I've just started offering a service specifically for DNA sexing chickens.

I'm a chicken-obsessed mom, with a background in molecular genetics. Because I've raised cockerels I wasn't able to keep, I would like to help folks identify their boys as early as possible.

My focus is on providing a hands-on customer experience, geared specifically to poultry owners and breeders. Because I own chickens myself, I fully understand that in sexing chicks, time is of the essence, and accuracy is imperative. I work as quickly as I can, and render my results via e-mail as soon as I'm certain of the chick's sex.

I don't know about ringnecks but I have two African Greys. They have been tested and the male is actually more "nesty" than the female. If I put a box in there he will chew it up a little bit and stay in it and get really nasty about defending it. The female only likes boxes to chew up, not to nest in. They two birds are not a pair. I had the same experience with a pair of conures-- the male was a lot more interested in finding places to nest (behind couch cushions, etc).
