Is dry corn on the cob okay?

I'm wondering if the dry corn on the cob in the bags for feeding birds is ok to feed to my chickens as a treat?

I feed it to my birds as a treat in the winter on really cold days. They like to peck it off the cob. I'd be careful about feeding too much in the summer heat tho.

I've been feeding it to my 10 week olds, they're doing great and strip that cob bare!

At winter we do that!
When we bought are farm there were some dry corn on the cob on the ground, so we saved them and fed them to the chickens.

Cracked corn or shell corn gives off heat and stay in the crop for along time, thats one reason to feed it in the winter on cold blustery evenings...helps keep the birds warm overnight...

I've been giving the chickens handfuls (scattered) of cracked corn when I let them out to range,m and mixing some in their feed. Should I not be doing this in the summer, or just limit the amount I give them?

This may seem like a stupid question, can we feed our hens fresh corn on the cob. Usually after we are done with cooked corn, we will give them the left overs (if they have been cut off the cob) or peices no one has eaten, is this still something that needs to be kept for cool nights?

Fresh corn on the cob is fine

Fresh corn is fine and so is canned but cracked, scratch or shelled holds in heat and thats not good in this hot nasty summer weather....
