Last week our family ate some hamburger that turned out to be bad and we all got food poisoning. Before I knew this I gave my toddler's leftovers to our chickens. They had been laying about 4 eggs a day but now they're only laying 1 or 2. They are also not eating as much as usual. Are their eggs safe to eat? Or do we need to discard them until they start laying and eating at their usual rate again?

Welcome to BYC. I probably wouldn't worry about it as long as you are thoroughly cooking the eggs as we should anyway. Give the chickens some probiotics or some plain yogurt or buttermilk to help their beneficial intestinal bacteria. They may just be taking a break from laying.
