Is frostbite avoidable without electric heating? Should I add heat to my coop?

Well this is Great. My wonderful unreliable power company just lost power. This is getting old.🤬
Anybody know anything about an herb called Boldo. Supposedly it helps cleanse the kidneys of chickens. The reason I ask is is because last summer, my chickens got hit with a heat wave. That's when my Roo started "back kicking". He is still having issues with that involuntary issue and hoping knows something about it

Absolutely. I'm too old for that stooping nonsense.

When it was first finished. I've since added the roost/board along the left wall when looking into the chicken section of the coop.

Wow! Nice! Love the curtains ♥️

Wish I had a covered run, but the expense would be horrendous, the amt of snow I get here would crush it unless it was built like another ‘building’.

Isn’t winter fuuuuun?

My run was built to IRC standards.
It held up fine with over 3' of snow on it.
You can't see the run but this is heading into the pen.

It seems to show promising results

I'm not sure why i thought it was much more than that - I just checked my store and lo and behold it is $7 for 40lbs 😅 . I will be doing that!
Oh good. I was going to weigh in that for me they are the cheapest thing around apart from woodchips that are free, but are not dry!

Well if I did this right (a pic) this is what I lined the coop floor with
