Is Golden Comet the same as Red Sex Link?

This summer, we got three beautiful hens from a local Amish farmer and his wife. She called them "Golden Reds", and sexlink, and said they came from males that were white RIRs and females that were red RIRs. They had several dozen, maybe more, in a large coop. She said all the Golden Reds were females, and several roosters, which were huge, white with brownish breast feathers. Of our three, Scarlett [O'Hara] started laying a decent sized eggs about 4 months ago, and lays an egg almost every day. Elizabeth [Taylor]

just started laying last week and her eggs are huge! Betty [Grable] laid her first one today, also very nicely sized. They are very sweet and easy and I just adore them! We had always had RIRs, but think we'll keep getting the Golden Reds as their egg laying so far is commendable, and they are easier with the grandchildren than our three RIRs.

read a post of yours from jan '11, see that you were trying to id the breed mix for them. I have one , that I think is a GC, or Golden SL. that is what the seller told me. Anyhow, when did yours start laying, how many weeks. I know that must have been a while ago, but perhaps you got some more recently and can recall. Mine is about 21 weeks. only one soft translucent egg about two weeks ago. I have a Leghorn that has been been laying steady for about three weeks. Do the GCs have a tendency to start late?
