Goldie is 3 1/2 months old. She has started on a chair (with a cushion), and scratching in a circular direction. She will work on that cushion for 10 minutes, then look around, hop down, prowl around, then go back to chair cushion and start scratching again. I have nest boxes ready in coop-after I heard on for the girls trying the egg song. Is it almost time for eggs? No squatting yet, and the girls run when RAndy tries to be Randy.

Pullets will start laying eggs when they are 18-25 weeks old, so she is not old enough yet. No idea why she would be scratching on a chair cushion though.

She might be considering that spot for future laying, so if she hasn't yet been introduced to the nest boxes, you might want to put her in one to let her get a good look at them. Fake eggs in the nests may help.
Got the nest boxes with fake eggs ready ;)
Thanks
