Is hair thinning around the neck normal?

The neck hair of my three week old chicks (wyandottes) appear thin. So much so that when they extend their necks you can clearly see skin. Is this a normal process of chicks getting their feathers? I don't notice the same thing with the red pyle bantam chicks.

Yep, its a pretty normal thing to be seeing around this age. Some breeds feather in faster than others, and Wyandottes are pretty slow to mature. They can look fairly rough while growing up :)

Thank you all for your replies. I will ride it out with less worry.
