Is he a Cukoo Maran Roo ???????

Hi, I was given 4 cukoo marans last spring and just about forgot about the 1 that survived. He runs with my free rangers......Is he a cukoo maran roo......please......

His legs are yellow, which means he isn't a Marans. He looks too dark to be a Barred Rock cockrel either. I'm guessing mixed-breed.

Wait just a minute. You got 'him' last Spring? If so, he's coming up on a year and has no spurs. It's therefore not a he, but a she.

Thats not a Marans or BR for sure. Looks way to dark, and no obvious hackles for a roo. Comb is small for a rooster of those general breeds.

Feathering is way too tight to be Marans also.

I see sickle feathers, I say its a rooster, and it appears to be younger than 1 year old..Looks more like a black sex link

Uh... thats a hen.
Short wattles, no spurs at 1 year, looks like a hen to me.

Maybe he is an offspring from that cukoo maran roo a hen hatched out and you didn't know it?

That is most definitely a roo. He is not a maran though.

Looks to me like he has BR in him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a pet quality barred rock.

Marans have whitish grey legs.
