Is he getting beaten up?

I never see him fight much. But every morning he's worse and worse. Some of the others have some but not like this. He was top dog. I ended up with all roosters, 7 all hitting about 20 weeks of age. I first thought he was getting bitten maybe by flies(real bad in TX this year), I am keeping coop scrupously clean every day to keep them down. Then I saw a few ants, took care of that. But even if it were ants, the others are not near as bad. Are these signs of fighting? I have now isolated him b/c he now has a foamy eye, no nasal discharge, no sneezing, coughing shaking head. Poor thing, I feel so bad for him. What's it look like to you? He is just full of scabies I think we will cull him anyways this weekend, but I haven't seen this before, I just have too many roos.

Oh, and I havent seen any mites. I looked him over repeatedly over the last week or so. Nothing.

I could be wrong, but it looks he has more going on than just getting picked on. If you are not going to cull, you might want to consider some antibiotics to battle secondary infections from the skin while you try to find the cause.

It's not all over, just where its visible. Its not under his neck or where the feathers start. Around the face and all along the back of his neck.

If you are able to keep him seperated, feathers will start growing back quickly if in fact it was a plucking/picking situation. Do keep an eye on the scabs and redness - you don't want him to get an infection. Some topical ointment (bacitracin etc) applied may help if the scabs arent drying up quickly. If the picking was it, you should see improvement within the week, and new feathers shortly thereafter as well.

It sounds like you may have too many roosters and may want to rehome a few (I know, easy said, hard to do - ).

Thank you. I do have him removed. Yes I got too many roos. He actually is suppose to have a hairless neck, he is a Naked Neck or Turken. I just didn't know if fighting would look like this. We are planning to butcher 3 this weekend.
