Hi I am puszzled! I ordered 7 mixed hens. Well now Im wondering if this he/she is not a roo.

I've been studying pics and comments by experienced folks, so I'm going to take a leap now and post what I think. That is a very long tail feather sticking up, and the hackle feathers look pointed to me, so I'm going with boy. The way he/she is posed also says boy to me...just the demeanor if you know what I mean....


Can't wait to see what the pros say!

Honestly, I'm going with 'roo. I could be *very* wrong (I have a hard time with the EEers) but the Y body shape just looks all over roo to me, in addition to the tail feathering.

I'm guessing cockerel too, for the same reasons Kikiriki posted above.

no crowing yet? i was going on the color of the comb, but by three mo. hens usually have red combs too but that tailfeather does look rooish

Well I havent heard any crowing yet, but he/she has been grabbing the back of my other girls neck feathers!

Looking at those red patches coming in on the wings, I would have to guess roo as well.
