I have an EE that I "ASSUME" is the same age as the other EE I got at the same time from TSC.

They are about the same size weight wise, but one chick has already started feathering out pretty good on his wings, and the other is NOTHING but down still.

Should I be worried? Both are very active, and eat and drink well. Do you think they are different ages?

I'm worried about the little guy. I dont want a naked chicken!

I wouldn't worry. Some are just slow. You could give them some scrambled eggs to boost their protien intake and help with the feather growth.

Pullets of some breeds often feather out much earlier than cockerals - so you may have one of each. Don't worry as long as they're both active - eating, drinking, etc.

With us, the girls feathered out much faster. We ordered 15 pullets and a boy. They sent 2 as packing peanuts. The 3 that were slow to feather all turned out to be boys. The girls all got their feathers much faster. At about 5 weeks, the boys are still feathering slower. The girls can fly..really well. However, the one little roo I kept, can do a great strut.

Ok, well they were in the straigh run bin, so I definitely COULD have one of each. I'm HOPING they are both hens, I have a Dominique Roo (I think) that I really want to keep.

I just love them all! I cant imagine having to get rid of ANY of them...
