Is her beak overgrown? If so how do I trim it?

They'll get over it. :) For some of my birds it's a regular routine. I slacked on it and ended up with a broken beak a couple months ago (thankfully it broke right before hitting the quick).
Just curious do you know what grit of emery board is best? The one I tried using today didn't feel very coarse and wasn't taking anything off. 240 grit is the least coarse I can find and 60 grit is the coarsest.

We use toenail clippers and a regular emery board. Seems to do the trick. The birds do not like having this done by the way. Best to be two people on it.🙂

I use a 100/180 board and generally use the 100 side, flipping to 180 to do a final smooth down on the edge. Don't know if that's "best" but I find it works pretty well. Anything finer than the 180 doesn't take off enough material quickly.

Ahh okay. I found some 100/100 boards at the store and I think I have either a 180 or a 240 board at home, so I should be good. Thanks!
