Is incubation time for eggs the same when they're under a broody hen as when they're in an incubator

If you have any ideas of what i should name them i would love to hear them, what if you named Buddy, Rover, do you like the name, do you think it suits him?
I think i am going to name the male cat in picture 2 Duckie, what do you think?
I think it'd be great to have another Duckie out there! What about Hobbes for another cat name? Like from that comic, Calvin and Hobbes? I love that comic, it's so funny! And Boots, like from the old story of puss and boots?
We're still calling Buddy, Buddy. I can't get Jim talked into changing it! I even tried some "guy" names, you know, like names from his favorite movies. No go. He told me to quit confusing HIS dog calling him different names! He said I've got plenty of other animals around here I can name and to leave poor Buddy alone. Grouch.

LOL.
You might be right about the bunny! Maybe she's the one with the problem! I can't imagine ALL of the babies had something wrong with them. I wouldn't let her have any more.

Midnight and Sunshine are putting up such a fuss when they can't see you cause your their mama! They want you to see what a good job they're doing finding stuff to eat! So cute.
There's nothing wrong with being a crazy cat lady! or crazy chicken lady! I plan on being both(if I'm not already!) when I get old!

Here's that kitten that had the bad eye. It's cleared up for the most part except for a little cloudy spot right in the middle. She's got a green eye(the normal one) and the bad one is a golden brown color now. I don't know if they were going to be different anyway or if it being hurt changed the color. I've been calling her Cat Sparrow.

This is one of the new kittens. It's only her and one other left, the others all went to their new home already. She was sitting in the hay for the chickens "helping", which means she was attacking me every time I reached in for hay!

I forgot to take a picture of the coop, i was just so relieved that i found time to take pics that i didnt come inside and check off the list of things i had to take pictures of.
I am glad that you enjoyed the pics, sorry that i posted so many it is just that i havent posted in so long i felt like i should post, you know?
I know, the poison is ridiculous, i saved my cat because i saw that she started drooling and that is the first sign of the poison that they put on the roads here, so i rushed her to the vets and she gave her some medicine to throw up or something, i am not sure, it happened a while ago, now i feed them a lot and lots of goodies so that they dont go looking for other things, i want to spay them and neuter them but who has the time and money, it is $80 for the male and $100 for the female...
I am so sorry to hear about your dog and cat, it is so sad, i have lost lots of cats to the poison...
I didnt know that llamas were so protective, i dont think that i can get any over here though.
I let them free range that day because i didnt have to work but i didnt think of having to catch them, that was a pain in the butt.
Ok, beach pictures:

Ok so Duckie for the yellow one and Hobes for the fuzzy yellow one but i dontt have any more males, wait i do, the kitten might be a male oh and the other kitten, ok so the black and white kittens new name is Calvin and the white and cream on is going to be named Boots.
Any female cat names or chicken names?
Oh well, Buddy isnt a bad name.

My bunnies arent like those friendly fluffy ones, they are really wild and mean so i might just let them go up in the mountains, dont think of the mountain like really tall with tons of rocks or anything, it is more like a hill.
I dont mind it when Midnight or Sunshine do that, i actually like it.

I love that old person emoticon, it is soooo funny!!
I think that kitten was born with different color eyes, one of my cats had it too.
Both of your kittens are really cute!!
Are you going to keep the second one?

I love all the pics! Don't think I think it's too many!
big_smile.png
It's fun seeing them, it's like we're visiting!. The beach pics aren't showing tho, I can't figure out why. Bummer! I can't believe it costs so much to get cats fixed! I just found a place a few days ago(the lady that took the baby cats told me about it) and they do males and females for $10. It's normally like $15 for males and $25 for females so it's a pretty good deal. I'm going to get the money together and take everyone all at once. When I can find the time...I'll probably have who knows how many more batches of kittens before I get the time to take them.

LOL, I didn't mean YOU had to go out and get a llama! Just that the people raising livestock around there might be surprised by how well they'd protect their animals if they knew about them. Although...it would be neat to have a llama for a chicken guard! They spit tho like camels do and I'm definitely not into getting spit on by a llama! gross

!
Did you have to catch them with your chicken net? That's a big open space to have to run around trying to catch chickens!
If the bunnies aren't fun to have, they might be better off on their own! Especially since the mama is a cannibal!
hmm.png

Buddy isn't a bad name, but...
I think it's cool her eyes are two colors. I used to wish I had two colors of eyes when I was little. No luck, still blue. LOL
I'm glad you named one Calvin too! Have you ever read those comics? They used to run in newspapers years ago but not anymore. I've got a few of the books and they still make me laugh even tho I've read them over and over! Ok, girl names...here's some cat names: Toonses (an old skit on tv, Toonses, the driving cat) Cokie (a cat I had when I was little, her name was Coconut, but I always called her Cokie) Birdie (I thought it went well with Duckie) Soliel (pronounced solay, it means sunshine in french, to match the sunshine chick). I'll try and think up some more if none of those work. Now chicken name: Tika and Pelee(pronounced teeka and paylay) I'm going to name two of mine those names, their hawaiian goddesses of volcanoes or something like that, I just like how they sound, I had some lovebirds I named tika and pelee years ago. Bitsy, Henny-Penny, Nutkin (the squirrel from the beatrix potter stories) Oiseau (pronounced wahzo, it means bird. sounds silly but some names should be silly!) Belle, Saffie, Lucy and Ethel (LOL) Boris and Natasha (LOL again) Buttons, Violet. I'll have to think of some more chicken names too! I haven' even named all of my new ones yet!
I'm SUPPOSED to find them a home too but...I'll probably keep them. I do need to find a home for the tomcat named Daisy. He's been causing trouble and I don't know what else to do about it unless getting him fixed helps.

I know, it is like we are visiting!
big_smile.png

I know, it is a lot of money just to get a cat fixed, that is why there are so many stray cats here, i feel so bad for them...
There used to only be one vet here and he charged 110 for males and 125 for females i think, something like that, now a new veterinary clinic oppened and her prices are lower but still not low, oh well, you have to do what you have to do...
I know how you feel, i dont have enough time to feed my chickens, how am i going to find time to fix my cats.
I know you didnt mean that i had to get llamas but i think it would be funny if i had llamas marching around the chicken coop protecting the chickens, or when they are free ranging.
No i didnt have to catch them with the chicken net, i just put some yummy treats down and they came running, but i cant catch all the chicks without the mom freaking out so i had to catch her first and then put her in her cage, eventually all the chicks were outside the cage wanting to be with mama, the only one that gave me a difficult time was the one the single baby, she did not want anything to do with me, i was debating wether i should get the chicken net but i didnt in the end, eventually she couldnt resist boiled eggs.
gig.gif

Ooooh i like all the names, i dont have that many cats though.
I forgot to ask last itme, why did you have to give Boris and Natasha to your neighbour?
How many cats do you have?

Great beach pic! Is that another island off in the distance? I love the green and blue water!
big_smile.png

I might have to find time to go and get Daisy fixed at least! He caused a big old ruckus yesterday trying to get Duckie and Jim threatened to fix Daisy himself or go drop him off at the trailer! We've actually castrated pigs when we had them(I hope I never have to do that again!) but I don't think that makes him Dr. Jimmy by any means and I don't want him trying to do it to Daisy! That reminded me of a funny story! OK, so when we first moved to the trailer we had to build the pigs a temporary pen to hold them while we got moved and until we'd built their permanent pen so he had the bright idea to use old skids(those wooden pallets that companies ship stuff on you know?) so we built them a house out of them, then used all the rest(we had alot of em) to make a "fence" with one piece of cattle panel for a gate. So it's done and we think good job! and put the pigs in it(which we had to move to the trailer in this old van we had at the time, they weren't big yet, more like dog size, so they all fit, I think there were 8 or 9, but the mess!
sickbyc.gif
I told him they were HIS pigs and HE had to clean the van!)So the pigs are in the pen and it works out just fine for a couple days then we pull up with a load of our junk and realize ALL the pigs have escaped and are running loose!
ep.gif
They had knocked the gate open somehow. So I had to put Evie (who was a baby then) in her playpen in the trailer and he and I had to start running down these little pigs. One we caught no problem cause it was still next to the pen. The others we had to chase aound the woods to catch! It was raining too, did I mention that? So here we are, running all over creation after these slippery little pigs in the rain and mud. We were coated with mud from top to bottom! It finally got down to one more and we had chased it back to the yard area and I managed to sneak up behind it and I jumped and grabbed it around the middle and it slid right out but I got a back leg and was hollering for him to come and help! So here I was, face first in the mud, trying to hold onto a muddy, wriggling, screaming pig while he's over there laughing his head off and NOT helping!
barnie.gif
OMG, we were so dirty! I'm glad it was raining so we could get rinsed off! So that's my funny pig story.
A llama guarding a flock of chickens would be funny! Can you imagine them riding around on it's back? That'd be a funny pic!

Yep, throw out some food and they all come running! I can't even walk by the coop out here without all of them swarming to the fence! Chickens look so funny when they run! I put the new chicks out by the coop yesterday( I turned half of the cage upside down over the grass so they could go scratch in the grass if they wanted) and some of them got loose! I was in the kitchen doing dishes and noticed one run across the coop yard! Then I saw a bunch of them in the coop yard! I ran out there and managed to get all of them rounded back up and saw they had crawled under the cage so I put some towels around it to block it off. I had to go in the yard to catch one of them and as I stepped thru the gate I was still holding one I had caught and the stupid thing jumped out of my hand and of course the bigger ones thought I had just thrown food down and they attacked it! I got it right away and it's not hurt thank goodness but it about gave me a heart attack!
th.gif

We got rid of all the ducks just because they wouldn't stay at the pond, they kept hanging out up here on the deck and pooing EVERYWHERE! These were big ducks too so I'm sure you can imagine how big the piles were! We just got sick of stepping in it. Natasha actually laid a clutch of eggs when we had her but nothing ever came of them. She laid them in with a batch of baby kittens. I'll find the pic! It was cute! She was sitting on the baby kitties like they were her baby ducks!
Counting the new kittens, I've got 9 cats now. Plus neighbor cat, but I try to run him off so he doesn't make MORE babies!

I found em! The second one is where I had moved the baby cats so they wouldn't suffocate under her but she was putting straw around them like she wanted them to stay warm!
