Is it a bad idea to get a Silkie? Please talk me out of it.

See I had the other theory. If I get just 1 or 2 good silkies I will never have to use my incubators again...lol.

This time last year, I had a silkie hen in the house sitting on eggs and 3 incubators going at the same time.

okay well im dead serious i wouldnt get silkies again for the following reasons:

mine arent nearly as friendly as theyre put out to be and theyre broody liek half the year and theres no stopping them And when they are broody they get picked on by ALL the other chickens or vice versa....ill admit, theyre pretty awesome looking though

Huh. Neither of mine get picked on. They are really high up in our pecking order.
Mine also free-range really well. They do get a little soggy when it rains, but it has never seemed to bother them.

Mine did not start off as lovely dovey kind of chicks, but once they started laying they became my best friends!
