Some people sell things without a whole lot of knowledge about what they're selling and others take advantage of your lack of knowledge. I'm thinking you'd save yourself a heap of hassle by getting the American Standard of Perfection book and bringing it with you to the show. Then you can evaluate the bird based on factual data rather than the seller's pitch. You can get the 2009 edition for ~$20 now that a newer edition is out...
