image.jpg IMG_2032.JPG I think the egg on the is a guinea fowl egg. Can anyone tell me for sure? The guinea I have I saved a year ago from a fox and I haven't been able to ever tell it's gender. I have noticed that it has been laying down in the pen a little more than usual but I checked it over and found nothing wrong.

Neither of them look like the eggs we get. Ours are light brown and speckled. They should almost look triangular.
But anything is possible.

chicken... Probably a Pullet... first few eggsies are smallish.

The other IS a Guinea egg. You can ID a mature female by its vocalization... They make a two sylable call that sounds like Buck Wheat... over and over and over and over.... did I Say OVEER again.... LLOL.

Guinea eggs
full

Guinea eggs from mature hens are about 2" long and about 1 3/8" at the widest point. They are definitely pointier than chicken eggs. They can be speckled or grainy looking and can have various colors. I have seen a white guinea egg but none of my hens lay white eggs.

Neither of your eggs look like a guinea egg to me. As @perchie.girl pointed out you should be able to tell the sex of your guinea by its call. If it is a hen, it would be doing the buckwheat call incessantly since it does not have a mate. One of the traits of a male guinea is to spend time laying down as its mate putters around in a circle with the male at the center of the circle.

The only male birds I know for sure of in my flock are two austrolrops and an Americuna rooster.
