is it a man thing?

The most amazing thing to me is that my DH cannot find anything in the refrigerator.

"Where's the mayonnaise?"
"In the refrigerator where it always is." (More noise from the frige...)
"I can't find it...are you sure we have any?"
"Yes, I'm positive...keep looking...it's always on the 3rd shelf"
"Third from the top or bottom?"

Really?

Coming from a man, yes.

As far as misplacing things, definitely NOT a man thing here. Both DH and DS are very good at taking care of their things.

But this:

Tryng to find things--we just call it man eyes. Our men have this affliction quite bad.

Round here we ALL lose stuff all the time... which is why my SIL gave us this key jobber for Christmas... it has a wireless base that we keep on the shelf right behind the front door. You push the button and the little jobber on your keys beeps. Of course, now that we have that we've not misplaced our keys once...

The last time DH's IPOD wasn't anywhere to be found it was actually because Mattie (the dog, see My Page for a pic) hopped up on his desk and snuck it outside so she could gnaw on the clip. Must have tasted pretty darn bad because it looks like one nibble was more than enough... very lucky we found it at all given the jungley nature of our yard...

My hubby has the same problem. He can set something down and not be able to find it 5 minutes later. Or he will call or text me while I am working and ask where something is.

My son is afflicted with the "not being able to find things that are right in front of his face" disease. Especially if it is in the fridge or in the pantry, though where it is has not changed since the last time he used it!

Traitor!

Is this going to be a man bashing post? Cuz I resent the comment about not being able to leave them on the counter. Like it's not his home too? What's more if he left them in the truck they should still be there. Like I've said before when there's a post about a complaining spouse it's usually a wife complaining about her husband.

My wifes' not perfect I just think she is.

Yes.... it is definately a man thing...... I have a SO, 2 sons and an Ex who all blame me for their misplaced things the worst one is pocket knives..... I NEVER touch them and they are always in their pants pockets, when they change clothes or shower it goes from one pair of pants to the other so it never gets as far as the laundry room.. they put it in the "wrong" pocket and automatically I must have put it up somewhere.... UGH!!! I tell them to check the other pockets in their pants..... it's not there because "they" put it in the left/right (which ever the case may be... SO is left handed son is right handed) low and behold.... it's in the "wrong" pocket and I must have put it there. how and why on earth would I do that.... makes no sense at all.... so it is definately a man thing.

I have the opposite problem. My DH is very good about putting things away, even things I don't want put away!

I'll put my cell phone down in a certain location so I can hear it while I do stuff around the house. He picks it up and moves it

I'll retrace my steps to find my keys, but they aren't where I thought they should be. Yup, he's moved them.

I spent an hour looking for a bill he swears I did not give him. Turns out it was on his headboard. He says he doesn't remember putting it there

I get out ALL the ingredients for baking a cake, or any other recipe, so that I know I have everything I need. He starts putting them away before I can even use them. When I

he stops... for a few minutes... and then he starts back again. I feel like I'm running a race, to see if I can get the ingredients in the bowl before he puts them in the cupboard.

I

him though. He has any mess cleaned up almost before I finish making it.

that sounds like my EX who has a severe case of OCD.... don't put your tea glass down before you are done with it.... it will be washed dried and in the cabinet by the time you decide you want another drink. lol. he will clean the whole house if the kids don't make their beds. lol.
