Sorry to use your thread, but I have 2 speckled Sussex that look completely different. One has a big straight tail, while the other has a shorter tail, that is just curly feathers dropped over her butt. The first one with the bigger tail, has no red comb at 13 weeks but is slightly more pink than the others with a still small, but larger comb. The one with a wavy tail has no signs of being a cockerel other than the tail. Neither have big red combs, neither act like roosters.
