Is it alive or is it my imagination?

I decided to check on my hen's egg(since it is her only surviving egg)she is a good girl and let me pick her egg up.I put it up to my ear and heard pecking, and scrabbling.Is this what I might hear on day 20? I'm wondering if this is the chick getting ready to hatch, am I right or is it my imagination?

Your probably right but, if you handle the egg a lot or shake it, the chick may die, or the mother may push it away. What day is it for this hatch? What happened to the other eggs.

I had 6 eggs under her and 4 were infertile, and our rabbit ate one of them

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with the egg, hope it is OK and hatches. X2 on what drumstick diva said, you want to leave the egg alone to give it a chance to hatch. You can often hear peeping coming from the egg, or they will kind of bump.
