Is it bad if all of my chickens are different breeds

at first i started with all BRs and i loved it and then after a month i got bored and couldnt tell any of them a part !!!!! so i added to my flock ... WITH 3 ducks! haha then a month later 2 geese . now my chickens are going on 8-9 months (i lost count in weeks!) and i just ordered 8 new chickens for the spring, 2 buff brahmas 1 GLW 1 Barnevelder 3 SF and a meal maker i cant wait. so fun to see the colors in the yard

I love my mixed flock. I don't have a rooster, so I am not worried about breeding mixed chicks. I have Red Stars, SLW, Black Sex Link, several mixed breed hens and Blue Laced Red Wyandottes-2 of which are splash color. The back yard looks like a flower garden with them all running about.

A lot of people ask that, and no it's not a problem. Although, you may see chickens of same colors keeping together. If I hatch out three barred rocks, three silkies and three buff orpingtons, I notice the three of each breed hanging out together.

Like the old saying, birds of a feather flock together. :)

I love the rooster in the middle of all the chickens. What kind is he?

Uuhh, a pretty one?

Seriously, I don't know what his breeding is. Daddy would have been a black sex link of some type, and my best guesses for momma are a speckled Sussex or a Welsummer. I'm at the point where I have mixes of mixes and am not 100% sure who comes from who! He is on my short list of keeper roosters, though, just cause all my guys love his color and he's not obnoxious.
