is it blood on my hen's egg?

It looks like dried blood. I've seen the Chicken Poop page, which shows one that includes shed intestinal lining. Says it's perfectly normal. Could that be what's dried on the egg? The hen seems perfectly fine, but I don't want to overlook it if something could be wrong.
 
Perfectly normal to have a bit of blood on an egg now and again.

Is your hen a new layer? If so, the poor gal could indeed have blood on the egg. That will pass (no pun intended).

Some instances where it would be something of concern - - if her bottom is being picked, she has mites/lice, or she has a prolapse. I have not heard of cocci causing bloody eggs.
