I just did the first 20 minute Epsom salts soak. Though the dark spot doesn't really look like a scab, I think I could actually lift the edges of the scab with my thumbnail after I finished soaking. I didn't push too far. I was planning on soaking again tonight. Should I then go ahead remove the scab at that point? I have all supplies (tweezers, gloves, vetericyn spray, gauze, vetwrap, triple antibiotic), but I am dreading this. Also - in your experience, is it normal for such early-stage bumblefoot to cause such severe limping? She uses her wing for support and just wants to lie down.Soak the chickens foot in Epsom salts mixed with warm water to start.
