IS it hard

My video explains it all and shows my very humane and loving slaughter and why.

<----- my slaughter and story.

<--- my coop, birds and my story.

I watched your vidioes and cryed just a little for both the first one becuse i was desqusted but also grate full. disgusted that i was going to watch a bird die, i actualy had to turn it off at the part about its arterys, but grate full that it was humane. the second video i was crying becuse you really seemed to care for them and then you sead i dont think i will ever be able to do this again and it showd it isnt easy. I aprisiate it guy/gals. Sorry for spelling

This is another great one. She gets teary eyed even though she's done many many chickens. It is "done" just after 3:50 if you don't want to watch that. And the rest of the video is about plucking.

Thank you,
In the first video my son made I was crying so much. I cried for two reasons.
1. I cried for all of the animals of the world right now that are suffering in Factory farms.
2. I cried that due to Factory Farm cruelty I was forced to kill. I have never before that moment killed anything in my life. I always left it up to the Farmers, you know, The FAMILY farmers, the ones that were also killed of due to FACTORY FARMING. They came in and took over and put the family farmer out of business.
I understand we have a world of people that need to be fed but come on!!!! There is a much kinder way of doing things. They should have the right to have a life, they should have a right to die humanely without being terrorized.

So to FACTORY FARMS, I HATE YOU.... I learned as a Christian to never hate but I HATE YOU MEANING, I HATE WHAT YOU DO, WHAT YOU REPRESENT, THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN THE HUMAN PART OUT OF HUMANITY.

I felt disturbed that she ate those eggs in the end, she didn't even know where the chicken came from as she said... They are just "dropped off".... To eat some old unformed egg out of the chickens body was strange to me.

Other than that, she is like me and I respect her for it.

Thassa how old are they? Becuse i still think its crule to kill them in the first at least two years of their life or in their "prime" becuse they dont really get a good life then. so if they are only the 10 months most people slotter them at i ask you to hold of for just a little longer.

There are some birds that only can live for two months as meat birds. They are finished growing at 2 months, if not slaughtered they will die of heart attacks.
Remember a butterfly only lives two weeks and brings joy to those who see it.

Some breeds of birds ( chickens) can live into their teens... The world record bird lived 16 years
I have an Amazon Parrot that I hope will live a full life, she could live for 80 years.

The older the bird is the tougher the meat is... Now old birds make the best soup broth and when slow simmered ( the bones have so much flavor) and the meat does become tender and it is lovely to eat when slowly simmered.

You have a parrot! as do i a pair of eclectuse!! yes but in the 2 weeks a butterfly lives it reproduses and a meat hen rarly gets to have young so i ask would it be to much to sak you to at least let the hen lay a few eggs and those eggs hatch? becuse after all that is their true purpose of life to reproduse so just let them.

You seemed to not understand the point of the cornish cross birds not living long lives, even if humans don't butcher them, they will die at a young age.
They have been breed to grow extreamly fast and produce alot of meat, but in doing so, they outgrow their bodies - broken legs, heart attacks, etc.
They will seldom live to an age where they are capable of laying eggs.

then how to people end up with chicks? And i understand but i still think they should have their life purpose fullfilled

You have a male and female? Are they a breeding pair? I love The Eclectus Parrots. both the male and female have a beautiful look to them. I always have recommended this parrot variety to anyone with dust allegeis as they are the only birds with oil glands all over their body so 0 dander. I love parrots and although I do not breed them. I am an experienced hand feeder. I used to work in a bird store and I did all of the feeding and I hand fed and weaned and got home ready many Cookatoos all varities.

I wish that Cornish X Rocks could physcially do this but if you research out the bird, due to their rapid growth rate, they would not live long enough to ever be able to lay an egg. They grow so fast and big they normally die of a heart attack by 9 week if not slaughtered. That would be a waste of a good chicken to find her stiff and dead in the coop. If they could live longer I certainly would have given them that chance. My husband wanted meat birds so we tried it. This is our first experince with them.

I also raise a variety of other birds including some Bantams to show at the fair (black and blue silkies) I also have one pigion Cochen just figured out yesteday he it is indeed a rooster. I also have layers which are Rode Island Reds, Giant Black, Red Star, Black Star, Spangled Hamburgs and two Bourbon Red Tom Turkeys that are 100% pets. I do not plan on ever eating them.
My layers are only 2.5 months old so they have a while to go beore they even start producing eggs. I am hoping for a good long great egg producing run with them I am hoping for a couple of great years. I will decide at that point if we willl use them for soup or give them away so someone else can. It will depend on how attached we get over the next couple of years. God willing they will lead healthy lives.
