Is it harder to tell the gender of a bantam chicken?

I have a mixed batch of chicks that my broody hen hatched out. They are about 5 weeks old now and the standard chicks in the bunch are already recognizably male, but my bantams have no visible combs yet. Do they take longer to show comb/wattles or is it likely that they are pullets?

I don't have bantams but that seems very probable.

It is possible but I think that depends more on the breed rather than whether they are standard vs bantam.

I agree!

Take Silkies they are one of the hardest to tell the gender IMO. But it is easier to tell the gender of say a...Japanese Bantam.

x3 breed over size. Silkies are hard to sex but they come in full and bantum size.

I believe mine are bantam Americana mixes. Do you all have any experience with them?
