I didn't throw them in the bucket. They decided to go in themselves. There are million of acres of space on this planet, crawling inside a pit-trap is not a doctor prescription and nobody asked them to do so.Wait, what kind of reasoning is this?
EDIT: I finally found the picture of the mighty rat. Back in 2019 I just purchased this house and it was a mess. The barn was full of mice and I had to exterminate them all. I monitored the situation with my camera trap and it appeared that there was just one rat left.
This rat was a frigging Lupin III. He could disarm all the traps and steal the bait like it was a joke. He wouldn't eat poison either. This rat was the smartest animal I ever met. A true genius. I tried to kill him for over 3 months. He made doubt of myself. He made me doubt of my brain capacity. He made me question my affinity with the species "Homo sapiens". He destroyed my self esteem at a very deep level. Until I put myself together and I decided that yes, I am a Homo sapiens. I built a custom trap that was meant to exploit his ability to disarm rat-traps. I placed a rat trap inside a cage, I built a mechanism that through wires and magnets, the trigger of the trap would close a door at distance. It was a thing that looked like straight out of the movie "the goonies"... but it worked on night 1. I caught Lupin III. I paid respect to this formidable warrior by pressing F.
Then put him in the car, drove far, far away and released him in the woods. He earned to live. He was a mighty opponent. He was not a darwin-award-winning clown that drown himself in a bucket.
