I am about to show my stupidity here... But what is autosomal red?

I'll get a pic of his wing to show you. What would the lavender do?

He sort of looks like he might be golden plus autosomal red. Would be nice to see spread wings, underfluff, etc.

Lavender dilutes both colours of pigment. Imagine his colouring diluted to a pale pastel; THAT is what lavender would do

Autosomal red is red pigment added by a gene or genes (not well understood or agreed upon) that adds red to gender colour areas. In the case of the bird in question, the red wings and shoulders.

no, I think it depends on what you may want to do w/ him. Take a look at the self blue/lavender thread and look up Brodys broodello. Maybe work towards what she calls salmon. Which I think is an enhanced wheaten
The birds mother is from my stock. And I think she said she bred her to a red looking partridge.

OK Yeah I believe that is what they call Calico. When I went to Boggy Bottom Bantams' house he had a roo that looked like that and he said it was a Calico.

Here is an old thread I found with a Calico. Its the 7th one down. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=370305&p=1

That is NOT a calico. Calico are splash plus red.

Ok This is usually why I stay out of Silkie related threads, there is too many different genes they can have and similar looking colors. I did notice that it did look like a salmon colored pattern with autosomal red. So is a real Calico basically a Splash Partridge ?

No: splash plus red. NOT partridge.
