I do not have $1000 to spend on a disposable TV. You realize, they really cannot be serviced and you will have to buy a new one if the disposable one goes out, right? Ours are about 20 years old and hopefully, they'll continue to work for awhile longer.

Problem is they're all 'disposable' now, although you can get a good one for less than $1,000. The prices are dropping, they'll come down even further soon enough. This weekend we're having a lot of vendors with huge sales, I noticed a few bargains in the inserts. The consumer numbers are out and they're 'worse than expected' (I'd love to know who sets those expectations), so I imagine there will be a big push in the retail industry to try to up those numbers - look for good sales now!

Haha, you are so right Ann, our 27" Zenith from 1973 started getting a glitch in the screen last year, but it still works well.

My dad went and bought a huge widescreen something or other and I don't know how to work it yet, but I'm learning.
