:)You know, the issue for me is the offenders that are just downright nasty in how they phrase things....I feel like there is ALWAYS a way to give an opinion in an ethical way, so as not to offend, but still get your point across. Like our mom's used to tell us: if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it. Folks ought to THINK about how they phrase things before posting.

I was gonna post, but then if the thread gets locked then you will blame it on me.

I will however point out that any questioning of the motives/reasoning behing a MOD locking a thread is not allowed, its in the rules, and MOST times a thread gets locked the reason is in the rules. And being one that doesnt always follow the rules I have noticed a few time a

at the bottom of my post, however when it would be an all day affair to clean up the offensive posts, locking is the easiest option.

Isn't trolling against the rules? Their ARE many different opinions on this forum. I think if you want to be on this forum you should follow the rules. Just because some people can't handle driving doesn't mean you take away all cars.

Perfect example, I could read this as you asking if Trolling is against the rules or since it is the first post after mine, I could take it that you are calling me a TROLL, which would be flaming, which also would not be allowed. But I know no one on here would disregard the rules so blatantly so i will answer your QUESTION.

(P.S.) putting a laughing smileyface makes everything OK

3. No Flaming (verbally attacking people or groups of people - e.g. a profession, an organization, a company.)
4. No Trolling (posting to provoke others, luring them to flame or rant). Trolling is sometimes done involuntary, so please be considerate when posting.

AND always remember
* If a topic is closed or removed do not, under any circumstances, re-post the same topic or material. If you have any questions as to why a thread was closed or removed please contact a BYC staff member.

I don't understand why this forum doesnt have the option to block.
Another forum I participate in has that option, basically if you have
certain members you constantly have a differing opinion with, you can
put them on block. All it does is block their posts from you, you can still
see the threads they post in, just that their post doesnt show up for you.
But you still have the option to click on their post if you desire to read it
but you choose. The other forum I'm in has a couple people that are
always posting controversial stuff. It's really pleasant to not have to
view their posts. They also post constantly so it's much faster for me
to read through threads if their long winded posts are gone.

I know this came up before and someone said that these people might have pertinent
health info for our chickens but really with as many members as we have no
one in here is the end all beat all , and there is always a few with the same
ideas so I really I don't see where that would be a problem. I wish the block
was available, although I havent been here long enough to see anyone I'd
block yet but I'm sure with time I would. It also reduces the whining moderators
have to put up with because people can resolve some of the personality conflicts
just with the ignore.

That's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Marlinchaser-I am speaking in general. I am not attacking you or anyone else. I apologize if you took this personally.

A smiley face signifies lightheartedness.

Perhaps people shouldn't take things too personally. It would avoid a lot of conflict.

To quote someone I nominated for public treasure.....

Open one, close two...open one, close two......

Though he did not say it the most recently closed one...

This forum does its called the selfblock, if you see a name you know is gonna get to ya you skip reading that persons posts, but like most of us coming up on an accident we tell ourselves not to look, but you look anyway. Then when it bothers you what you see, you blame it on the other person for writing what they did, after all why put blame on yourself. remember it takes 2 to argue/fight, so if you know a arguement may follow, why not remove yourself from the equation thus avoiding the confrontation? Because YOUR opinion should be heard/read, and the other person should back off and let you be heard.

No offense taken I was just pointing out that depending on how someone reads it, it could be taken wrong(or right since no one but original poster knows what was going on in thier head when they wrote it)
