Now, I would like to reiterate something MarlinChaser said.
If it is too involved and would take a long time to edit the rule violations, then edit the quoted replies to the violations and still try to keep the continuity of the tread, well.....clank goes the lock. Sometime we come back to it and sometimes we don't. We often leave the locked threads as an example of what not to do. If you read through the locked threads you will see a pattern to avoid.
