Is it natural nature for the chickens to come into the coop at night?

I wondered about that,but their food dishes still have plenty of food in them in the morning,and half of them are still on the roosting boards.

Maybe I can drop the wattage little by little then eliminate it completely?

That is what I did. I waited till they got up on the roost at night and then turned the light out. Mine are between 10 and 12 weeks old and it has seemed to work out fine. I never turn the light on any more, they know where to roost now.
