Is it normal if ducks haven't started pipping at 28 days?

My two duck eggs have been incubating for 29 days and they haven't started to break through the shell yet. I'm starting to get worried that they might be dead. They're not chirping, and I haven't noticed any movement. I would think that at least they would have made a little crack by now. Ive candled them a few days ago and seen movement but, again, the eggs haven't started pipping yet. Just wondering if this was normal!:/ Is there anything I could do about this? Any help would be appreciated!

Oh man, that's rough. Sorry to hear you didn't make it to the finish line.

Lillightning - I know it's too late now but do you know what your humidity was near the end? On ducks it's critical to get the humidity up to 75% in the last 3 days because the membrane on a duck egg is tough. I raise ducks and when people say they have trouble hatching ducks it's usually because they use the same settings that they do for chickens.

Yes, I think maybe the humidity was too low. The temperature had also been fluctuating a lot... I have another batch that's supposed to hatch on June 9th. Thanks for your help! I hope we have better luck this time!

Hi! So sorry about your ducks

Let me know how this little batch of eggs are doing and how the hatch goes. I had the same thing happen with my duck eggs this year and I was so sad. Everything seemed to be going along just fine, but nothing happened when hatching time came. I also had flexing in my temp(although very little) so also wondering if humidity was a problem. Good luck!!!!!

Thanks! The new batch is doing well. I also have a new, better incubator. I candled them and they're moving! I'm just hoping the same thing doesn't happen to these eggs as it did to the last batch. Again, they're scheduled to hatch on Monday, June 9th. I hope it goes well!

This is one of the duck eggs that's started to pip. You can kind of see the crack. This batch is doing well! Thanks for the support!

So how does one go about getting the humidity up as high as you say that it should be in the last 3 days? I have trouble getting mine above 55-60%. I had 7 ducks that were perfectly formed but died before hatching and I'm thinking this may be my problem.
