is it ok for roosters to breed w/their own offspring?

like bsartist said you breed daughter to father son to mother there wont be any defects unless they bred for so long its good after a few generations you get new blood line mixed in instead of the father you breed with a new rooster and you do that you would be fine no bad defects or deformation would happen but if you keep breeding with the same rooster to daughter after daughter then you will begin to get defects or deformed chicks if you don't bring in a new blood line aka a new rooster to breed

I do not plan on adding the chicks into the flock, I plan to sell the chicks...If the parents die or cant lay anymore, I will just raise the chicks and kind of start over...

I am not saying anything about defects!

You can do it, heaps of people do and yes I agree it is the easiest way to get show quality or quality flock, like getting good feathering or good colored eggs but I ( personally) wouldn't do it unless your a breeder, you know what your doing and you know how far to go before you have to bring a new blood in.
I said it before but the further you inbreed your poultry the more susceptible they become to disease and fighting bugs of.

You're going to be just fine.

Before you start on a breeding program, however, be prepared to cull and cull heavily. You don't have to kill the birds that don't look wonderful, but at least sell them to get them out of your breeding line. You'll want to raise at least some of the offspring as replacements for your aging hens, and you should have an idea of what the matings are producing. That would be the ethical way to go about it. Always strive to improve the breed.
