Also, I didn't now that sleeping on the floor was bad for them.If your birds continue to sleep on the floor, they will most likely be scalded from laying in their own urine, causing feather loss and irritated skin. It can also lead to respiratory problems from sleeping too close to the bedding. These are both issues you need to be proactive about sooner rather than later. There is a myriad ways you can make a roost that your birds may enjoy. It seems like you have been offering them metal options, which are slippery and ungrippable for them. Try offering a wooden roost, any way you can figure it out, it is not rocket science.
No problem. It's what we're here for. Sorry if I sounded harsh at any point. Thanks for being willing to learn/asking the question in the first place. Also, I didn't now that sleeping on the floor was bad for them.
Thanks for the info.
How can I secure it just wondering? If you have a pallet, lean it securely onto a block or even the buckets. I use this for my littles to hide under, but they roost on it till they are "allowed" to roost with the big girls. You can see it there on the left. Some people have also had luck using an old ladder. just secure it.
I will place this in my coop. Thank you so much.I guess I should say, I used a concrete block to prop it.
Would love to make that. You may have to put them on it at night for a few night... so they understand what its for... but it works. You end up scraping poop off a lot, but its no problem. Not my first choice of roosts... but its a start! Good luck! Maybe, you could work to something like this! I stole this picture off the internet... but it is WAY easy to make!
