HELP - Prolapsed Vent

Pics
Ah Nadine! I like that name. :) I went back thru the pics and see the difference. Now we will wait for some pretty, full body pics of healthy Nadine!

Nadine... it was an inside joke here at our home.. long story..
And she turned into our Roo Buck's 'favorite' girl because she NEVER put up a fight... I am not sure which one of them misses the other more.. lol

This looks fantastic! So glad she is doing well, you have done a wonderful job.

My son says her butt keeps smiling at him and making kissy faces... lololol:lau
I like this! LOL This is one I will have to remember.

It's always interesting how a person may describe a vent - the only other memorable description I have was something like "it looks like an alien mouth mumbling words I can't understand!" :gig

Truly, thank you for keeping your thread updated and the photos are great, I'm sure it will be helpful to others in the future.

That is just amazing, especially in such a short space of time!
Congratulations to you both and thank you so much for documenting your treatment so fully and illustrating it with such great photos. I am sure this will give hope and encouragement to others, both now and in the future, who are facing a similar daunting task and feeling overwhelmed.

Wonderful news! I agree 100% You did a fantastic job and the way you journaled everything for all of us will be a huge help to the next person that needs help!

How’s Nadine doing? Did she get back on her cycle of laying and no more prolapes’?
I’m dealing with it now and your thread is giving me hope :fl

Sorry that I missed this question. Nadine did recover fully, and ended up laying LARGER eggs than she had previously. Unfortunately, we lost her to the Bobcat that found the flock free ranging.... RIP Nadine.

This is great news! Thanks for sharing.

My Henrietta is dealing with this right now, same exact situation as R Tuggle where it's been crazy cold and the prolapse went necrotic.

I'm on day 3 of her treatment. It was hard to find any info on this but thankfully I was already on the right track with debridement and soaks and moisturizing.

I know this thread is very old but I will update if Henrietta pulls though. She's 4 years old so may have a harder time of it... But I am trying to be optimistic because she is the sweetest girl.
