If I wash my hands and am careful not to move them too much, is it okay to look at them everyday to see their growth?

I personally would not candle the last 3 days, at hatch, but the other 18 probably would not hurt anything, but Me again---if I was going to do it(which I wouldn't) I would do it every 2 or 3 days---every day will barely show much difference from the day before----they are your eggs---go for it if you want.

yeah, I meant to clarify if it was ok to candle everyday between day 4 and day 18. Has anyone done it everyday and still had a high hatch rate?

I candle daily. All the way through.

Almost 2 years ago I got tired of hearing people say over candling effects the hatch so I decided to test my theory (being that they are all crazy). I had 20 of my pullet's eggs. I had a group I'd candle every day and the other group I'd candle only days 7/14/18. Guess what? 100% hatch rate. 20 healthy chicks out.

I love seeing the changes. Of course there's not much the first couple of days and by day 17 you don't see much, but apparently I have control issues, and I need to see what's going on.

Mostly I have excellent rates.

I would avois tempering with the incubator on d a daily basis. Every couple of days is better anf you will see more development.
