Is it OK to dust with DE on a sitting broody?

Subject basicly says it. Broodies looked clean prior to sitting. Now 11 days in one has some mites. Can I dust the broody and nest with DE or is that too intrusive for a broody? These are turkey eggs so 17 days to go.

I dusted my hen with DE, one night, when I took her out of the nest to put her near the food and water. I also dusted the nest (but not directly on the eggs) while she was eating.
