Hello! I have a male duck with a flock of chickens. He seems to think he is a chicken and I think he would be happier with a duck companion. Is it ok to get another male if I have no females or will they fight? Its harder to find a female than a male around here.

Also, if anyone on here is from MN, I'm looking for another pet duck lol.

Yes, 2 drakes can be best buddies until a female comes along. That's when they will fight.

right now i have two adult drakes that have been by themselves for two years. They get along fine

I've been told the drakes, without girlfriend ducks, might try mounting chickens when they reach sexual maturity. That might squash some hens..... and annoy a rooster.

(I am hoping my two ducklings are NOT both drakes.)

I have 2 male ducks a peking "noah" and a runner "lil duck" I got ducks last year and when a predator got into my flock they killed the rest of my ducks which were female. Any ways they are the best buddies, they are not with other chickens but stay in a shed off the barn and pretty much roam the barnyard, pasture and love to be together. I plan on getting a few females this year of each kind so hoping they stay buddies.
