I have 3 buff silkie hens, 1 polish hen and 2 cochin hens...from 1year and half in age down to 8 months...I wanted to get some some adult quail pairs for eggs....Can they live in the same coop together with the chickens

Thanks

Mine are seperated, sort of

. The chickens don't have their own coop, they just roost in the barn, and the quail are in a cage in the barn.

I have heard that either the quail can make the chickens sick, or vice versa, but I don't know about that.

I personally wouldnt...one hard peck from a chicken on a quails head could mean death, not to mention theres been many cases of anamorous roos going after defensless quails. Also the illness factor. I mainly wouldnt because of the risk of the chickens hurting the quails. Roos have spurs...consider that for sure.

depends on the quail,i have valley and they would probably knock the snot out of my chickens if they were together..
