Hi! I was wondering if it was ok to take the egg from the nesting box while my chickens are still in there. Some of them stay in the box for 2 hours.

We were making a big breakfast and were short some eggs. I don’t wont to distrupt her thoughThe hen won't like it and maybe complain but yes you can. Why not wait though?
How can I train my chickens? You just need to train your hens better. Mine will drop their eggs in my hand if I comfort them while they are laying.
LolI sometimes take eggs just to keep the peace, with no ill effects.
Despite having plenty of nest boxes in each coop for everybody (total of 12 for 18 birds), when everybody is free-ranging, they ALL want to lay in the two boxes in the white coop -- and preferably in the southernmost of the identical boxes. So while someone wants to take her sweet time to lounge, other hens will literally stand in front of the box screaming at them to hurry.
That's when I step in as the next box police and do some traffic control. I say, take your eggs and have your breakfast!
