Is it okay to use Volcanic Pumice for Grit?

Garden & Poultry Dust or Livestock Dust or anything containing Permethrin will handle mites/lice. DE will not kill but I do use as a preventative. We used Sevin 5% years ago for chickens but it's no longer "recommended", however some of us still do. I rotate the dust I use and dust my girls monthly, as well as the perimeter of their Chicken House.

@U_Stormcrow this probably isn't your sort of thing, but I wanted a second opinion and always value your sensible advise. Could Pumice dust work for lice or mites? I'm thinking not... as I just can't imagine rock dust killing anything.
Not my thing, I don't know. Mechanically, I'm inclined to say no - but my only experience with pumice is as the gas grill/fire pit fillers (and heat sinks). I can see chickens dust bathing in crushed pumice - because of course they would - and its likely better than common sand - but I;m doubtful its even 1/10th as effective as permethrin/pyretherins generally.

PURE SPECULATION. I'm a bit too commited to look it up right now.

Thank you, that pretty much is the same as what I was thinking.
