My Hens are about 3-4 months old and a few days ago one of my "girls" distinctly started crowing. 3 or 4 times in a row. But "she" has not done it since. Also it was amongst the flock on the ground, not high on a perch. I don't see much difference in size from the other Salmon Favorolle that I have in either the body or the comb and waddle, but maybe slightly larger, it is hard to say. but it definitely eats like a teenage boy. It has always been trying to establish dominance over the flock but my older hens have squashed any hopes of that happening. I don't see any signs of the "dance" that roosters tend to do and it is not aggressive toward me or my daughter. is it possible that it is a hen but was agitated and therefore was crowing out of frustration? you'll have to excuse the tiny top hat. these are the only current pictures I have. Hopefully someone can still tell me if that is the comb of a rooster or a hen.
