This may be a bit explicit but I have to ask because it's driving me crazy. I only have one rooster. He's a game bantam. The rest of my chickens are much larger than he is. I have yet to run across a fertile egg from my hens. Every single time I crack an egg, I look to see if it's fertile and they are NEVER fertile. Is it possible that he can't "reach" them correctly? When I see him doing his thing, it looks like he is just doing something to their back.
I'm really sorry if this is TMI but I'm just wondering if there is ever hope that I'll have my own fertile eggs or if I'll have to keep relying on getting them elsewhere. I don't want another rooster. The one I have is my sweetest chicken out of all my chickens. He even runs up to me to pick him up. I don't want to get another and have them start fighting. Right now everyone in my flock gets along great.

Alot of people on here told me that batams and standards "can potentially" mate successfully but this didn't work out so well for my boys! I had to break down and buy them some girls their own size! Ans ohhhh how appreciative they were when they discovered that they "getter done" with their new hens! I bought silkie hens(LOOOOOVE THEM
) I've absolutely caught the "silkie bug" now! Blessings, Keri
