I have the Tylan/Amoxicillin powder and Liquid Corid. I believe one of my boys had coccidiosis with respiratory as the other boy has responded well to Tylan, while this boy has ruffled feathers, reduced feeding and lethargy with ruffled feathers.

I’ve seen writing that you can treat a syringe dose of Tylan with syringe dose of Corid. I’ve also seen the same idea with amoxicillin. But what about tylomox with Corid?

I see the direct undiluted dose of Corid is 1ml per pound. Is that correct?

Corid is always put in the water, except for giving an extra drench dosage of undiluted Corid liquid 0.1 ml per piund of weight once a day. The dosage for an outbreak of Corid is 2 tsp of the liquid, or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days.

Tylosin powder goes in the water as well. Tylan injectible, which is not usually available anymore in farm stores, could be given orally or by injection. Amoxicillin which sometimes comes mixed with Tylosin, is not effective agaist mycoplasma (MG,) one of the common respiratory diseases. Amoxicillin is effective against some secondary infections, reproductive infections, and bumblefoot. Pigeon suppliers love to mix drugs, such as 2 in 1, 4 in 1, and that is not a good thing to do. It leads to antibiotic resistance and throwing away eggs unnecessarily. Of course not the case in your rooster. You should only treat for something specific if you are certain what it is. It is not good to throw everything but the kitchen sink at a sick bird.

If you show us the pictures of the Amoxi-Tyl or whatever, I can take a look at it. It can be hard to figure dosages when something is supposed to go in the water.

No problem with the dosing, it’s just whether the doxytyl will have a negative interaction with Corid is my main concern. I’ve seen that it should not be, but I wanted to reach out to the smarter people here to know if they agree, and what their experience is.
