Is it possible to have a roo that barely crows?

XilverAngel that is exactly what happened to me. In may I purchased 12 chicks all about 7-8 weeks old and ended up with 5 roosters. My son got really upset about giving up Pajamas our Salmon Favorelle cross. He was lucky he got to stay. My husband wanted no roosters. I was in tears the day I rounded up the other ones to go to the SPCA. Pajamas was the lesser dominant one of the group so he did turn out to be a good pick by my 5 year old son. It's really hard to give them up thou. Good luck... I really hope u don't have that many... Maybe they will surprise u.

I got really lucky. My new roo only crows when there's a problem. He crowed at my husband this morning to tell him they were out of food. He crows if something is wrong with one of the hens (I can't blame him, cuz she died). No crow in the morning at all. But he's an older gentleman, not a young cockeral and I was told that when he was younger, he crowed a lot more.

Huge relief, my last roo crowed every 3 seconds. It got really annoying.
