my boyfriend has it stuck in his mind that he is going to breed our polish roo to a buff orphington hen. is this possible? i dont see it happening cause of the size dif. i want some opinions before he does it so one of them does not end up dead.

My little mille fleur d'uccle cross roo bred my JBG hen just fine. She's 3 times his size! I have a one week old chick from them. I put 4 of her eggs under a broody to see if they were fertile and one hatched, the others quit at various stages. Black chick with feathered feet. Can't wait to see what it turns into!

there is a big size diff. she is about 8 lbs and he is about 4 lbs

No problem for a motivated roo! Seems the banties aren't aware of their size difference. If she lets him, all will be good, no problems with hatching those eggs. Would be interesting to see the babies!

well if that is the case then tomorrow i guess my polish roo will have 3 ladys rather than one. gonna leave his polish wifey, give him the buff orp and my pretty silver laced wyanne dotte to see what will come of this crazy off breeding. will def post pics if i get them to hatch... bet they will look funny
