Is it safe for chickens to drink rusty water?

I use well water for my birds and recently the water has gone rusty. the water is orange with rust and I'm wondering if its safe for my chickens and ducks to drink.

I don't really know if it's safe, but I wouldn't drink it, so I would never give it to my chickens.

A little extra iron is safe. Their bodies like ours need iron. However an excess can cause problems.

Are you using a water softener?

No the inside of the tank is rusted
