Maybe when they're experienced it can work. I have an Ameracauna and a Delaware Frizzle that go broody together. The first time they fought over the space(both in one nest) so much they crushed the eggs and chicks as they were hatching and only managed to raise one.
The next time they were in different nests and a Black Leghorn went broody too in the third and final nest in that building leaving the others to lay eggs on the floor. They started stealing eggs from each other so I finally had to separate them all and when isolated things went fine.

I had three Brahma hens doing mamma duty to four chicks with no problems.

Right now I have a Jersey Giant and a serama sharing three Brahma foster chicks. The JG goes up on the roost at night while my tiny serama keeps all three chicks warm, and they are almost as big as she is! During the daytime the babies and mamas can't tell who belongs to who, so they just all hang out together.
